More of September

Early in September, on Robyn's birthday we went on a long walk down the beach to see an artist's recreation of a 1902 photograph of native Americans on Ocean Beach.

This guy looked really familiar to us:

Also in celebration of Robyn's birthday, we held our final, emotion-ridden puzzling night of the season/ crepe night a la magnificent Jeremy. I didn't happen to have my camera, but it is well-documented on Santos the Family.
Throughout the summer San Francisco has "block parties" in different neighborhoods around the city. We went to the 1st annual 18th Street block party with the Beckstead's and met the Santos' there. This block party benefitted the women's crisis center in the neighborhood. This also happens to be our favorite food street in the city, being home to Tartine Bakery, Bi-Rite Creamery, Bi-Rite Market, Delfina's pizzaria and Delfina's restaurant. That's right, my friends-- all in 1 block!! Delfina and Tartine both won national James Beard awards this year.
Ella was sung to sleep by the hum of the Muni streetcar on the way down:

The best part of this block party were the Bi-Rite sundaes that were served.
This was NOT my favorite thing I encountered there:
SICK!!! I was actually surprised to see such a barbaric-looking thing in usually very animal-friendly SF.
Also, the heat was quite stifling. Us San Franciscans are wimps, for sure. Ella didn't seem to mind--she seemed happy as a clam!

Here are some photos from a nice walk we took in Golden Gate Park in September.

Afterwards we walked to a little place we've been wanting to try in Hayes Valley, called Candybar. It is a dessert bar, but they also have little savory appetizers to try. We really enjoyed. I love fall in San Francisco-- especially enjoying the fine weather on a date with my Jeremy!

More September goings on to follow, but I have lots of photos of those times, so they deserve posts of their own. Jeremy currently has one of them under construction...
