After my internship finished Liz and I decided to take a little trip down the coast to stay at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse. Liz took a couple days off work and it was nice to spend time just the two of us, after a summer of working different schedules. The lighthouse is not that far away from home. We have driven past it a hundred times and always said that we should stay there sometime. This was the perfect opportunity. We stayed there for two nights and it was so beautiful. We got there in the afternoon and we walked along the beach, looking at the tidepools; we cooked dinner and went in the hot tub that overlooks the ocean.
This picture is looking south from the lighthouse down the coast.

Here is my beautiful Liz on a beautiful beach.

We got great weather while we were down there so we had great views the whole time.

This is where we ate breakfast and dinner. We saw whales every time we sat out there.

It was fun being in the hot tub over looking the Pacific with tons of sea lions on the rocks below us. We also loved watching the lighthouse signal at night.

The next morning we drove past Santa Cruz and went for a 2 hour run down the beach from La Selva to Pajaro and back. There was a seal that followed the whole way there and back. He just kept staring at us. We also saw tons and tons of dolphns. It was a beautiful day. Too bad the waves were so small that day.
After the run I was hot so I decided to bodysurf a little bit. This is at Manresa.
Liz, Dustin and I skated near Dustin's apt. on the west side before we went out for a surf.

Dustin and I snagged some waves at the Lane with very few people out. Liz snapped a beautiful sequence of Dustin.

This lighthouse still functions.
There were tons of sea stars in the tide pools near the lighthouse.
We went on an evening walk once back at the lighthouse after a great day.
I loved having this peaceful little getaway together--we definitely want to go back.

What's a "getaway together"?? Wish I knew... maybe someday, when the kids are older, Jordan and I might find some time to ourselves! I'm jealous... looks like it was a lot of fun, jeremy.
Those are awesome surf pictures! I love the angle. Don't you love the variety that California offers. Looks like a great trip.
