We were welcomed to Salt Lake with a delicious brunch at Jessica's apartment, made by her and my cousin Matt. So sweet of them...and so delicious. Afterwards we went up to my grandma's condo, where we were staying. We had a nice chat with her before heading off. I saw my friend Phil and he cut my hair. Next stop was Pleasant Grove where we met Lori, Kelly and Brad for some delicious milkshakes at the Purple Turtle. It was so fun to chat and catch up, but far too short. They had me laughing and smiling, just like old times.
We quickly headed down to Orem and picked up Jeremy's sister Ashley to spend the evening with her. We were surprised to see her as blonde! This evening included a fabulous meal at Pizzaria 712, a relatively new joint opened up by our friend Betsy's brother in law. We also got to meet Ashley's dog.
The next day was lovely. We went to church with my grandma and then had a fabulous brunch with my uncle James, Debora and little Gilbert. We had a good Sunday nap before everyone came over to make and eat dinner. Present were my cousins Nick (with his roommate Jeff), Matt, Jessica, Jonny, Shannon, uncle James and Gilbert and grandma.
The next morning we were treated to a storm--thunder, lightening, rain and hail. Unfortunately for us we got caught in the middle of our run up City Creek Canyon. Running in the hail hurts. We came back to the condo wet and cold. So much for the hike we had planned for that day!
After getting cleaned up we met the cousins and James at Hires, an old family favorite burger joint.
Gilbert brought his favorite pal, Spidey, who caught a ride on is shoulders.
Instead of the active day outdoors we had planned, we all gathered at my grandma's and watched Arrested Developed dvds.
We met up with my aunt Cindy, uncle Larry and cousin Scott for a dinner at Red Iguana. We never go to SLC without eating here at least once.
So yes, we didn't really do much except eat on this trip. But at least it was with people we love! Next time we hope to be able to stay longer, and see even more people.

You guys sure are a busy bunch. You'll have to put Las Vegas on your queue. We'd love to have your company. Right now it's much less of a "hot spot" than it was in August, but we're still hitting the 90's.
Looks like you guys had fun! Maybe we'll get to see you next time. The places you ate at are some of our favorites!
