Yesterday I got a text from my friend Mitch that said Curren is surfing Ocean Beach. I was so excited. He is my all time favorite surfer. For those of you who don't know who he is, he is probably the most influential surfer ever. He is in his forties and still rips. I watched him catch several waves down at Sloat. Unfortunately I forgot a camera. When he got out of the water there were a couple people asking for his autograph, and he was very willing to talk to people. I asked him to sign my Curren shape Al Merrick Red Beauty. He was stoked to see his board, and people around were too. I had a friend snap a picture with his Iphone too. Afterwards people were saying things to me like Are you going to put that on EBAY? No, I will still ride it because it is a super fun board. I'm never star struck or care for autographs, but it's Curren and I thought it would be fun. I surfed with him a long time ago at Little Rincon with just him, me, Beau, Chris and Dave out in the water on a perfect day with head and a half reeling rights. It was so fun watching him surf. This is SO rad Jer, that session at little Rincon was one of my most memorable sessions ever.
