We went on a hike to Elizabeth Lake.
Here are the two Elizabeths, at our namesake lake:
Steve and Jeremy considered taking a dip, but quickly realized this would not be wise.
We ate our snacks lakeside and then Jeremy and I decided to continue onward.
We hiked up to the top of yonder saddle.
On the way up we got a great view of the lake below.
We made it! And then hiked up to the highest point to see the panoramic views.
Back down at the lake:
What a gorgeous day! We had picnic lunches of salami, cheese, bread and fruit back down at the campsite and Betsy and Steve found a little patch of sun to nap in.
After lunch we went on a lovely walk in Tuolomne meadows.
It felt great to be out camping again. I love breaking out the traditional camping food I grew up with....Svenhard's breakfast claws, hot chocolate and oatmeal for breakfast, S'mores for dessert every night (amended with new and improved choice of Reeses PB cup as chocolate source). We also benefitted from the Santos' genius breakfast burritos and hot dogs roasted over the fire.
Wow, Yosemite is such a breathtaking place!
See if you can spot Jeremy...he's working on becoming one with nature. Remember he's all zen now?
Can't wait for our next chance to come here. Next time we'll try to leave earlier, stay longer and come at a warmer time! At least we avoided the crowds this way...

Ahhh... we LOVE Yosemite. We went camping there several times growing up. It looks like it was a great, relaxing trip!
Holy cow do you guys ever stay home! :)
So jealous of all your ventures, maybe next time Matt & I can camp with you, I hsve always wanted to go to Yosemite, but then again where don't I want to go - Kansas?
Hey I found your blog off facebook! I used to go to Yosemitie as a kid, but haven't been back as an adult. I wonder if it's still as big as I remember...probably. Glad you had a fun time!
So sad we couldn't make it to this trip.
