The first night there we got to hang out with Jeremy's brother Brandon and stay at his place near UCLA. We hit up the insanely yummy Diddy Reise ice cream sandwich shop. Here's what you do:
1) Pick 2 freshly made cookies out of a variety of different kinds (I picked chocolate chip, Jer picked peanut butter)
2) Pick a flavor of ice cream (we both picked peanut butter and chocolate)
3) They put a generous scoop of your ice cream choice on a cookie and top it off with the other cookie. You get a huge-mongous, delicious ice cream sandwich. Oh, and it is only $1.25.
The next morning we paid a quick visit to my grandparents in Pacific Palisades and then drove down south to San Clemente so that Jeremy could surf Trestles. He had a great time and even surfed with the dolphins for a while. I ran down the beach. It was a gorgeous, sunny day. After we were done we went to the Rip Curl outlet and got some insanely good deals on clothes and shoes.
We then went up to Tustin, in Orange County, where we were visiting my aunt, uncle and cousins, the Andrews. This is the family I used to babysit for almost each year while the parents went on a trip. They are so great. After swimming and hot tubbing at their house we went to see the new Spiderman movie so that Jeremy could enjoy his favorite actress of all time: Kirsten Dunst...Ha!
Saturday we had a blast. We went to the beach and all of us took a turn surfing. The cloud cover kept us from getting too hot, and it was a pleasant temperature.

After the beach we went home, went swimming and hot tubbing and then had a fantastic carne asada feast. Here is a sweet picture of Kathryn and Gilbert.
We headed back up to Pacific Palisades the next day to spend more time with my grandparents. My cousin Sarah came over to hang out. We got to eat some of my grandma's insanely good plum crumble with custard. Great way to celebrate my birthday, I must say.
