November

The first weekend of November I returned to Denver for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation annual conference, traveling with the rest of the CF medical team. I learned a ton and came home with new goals for the nutrition care of my patients. I absolutely love working with this patient population, and feel excited when I learn new things that will make a big difference to their health outcomes and longevity. We stayed in a swanky hotel downtown and went to some good restaurants. The first night there I was able to meet up with Kalen for dinner and dessert downtown.

Over Veteran's Day weekend we went to LA and met our new nephew Filipe. He is a little monkey and I love him.



We also enjoyed time spent with my grandparents in Pacific Palisades, surfed in Malibu, watched Borat with my cousin Sarah and her boyfriend Jesse, and went down to Tustin to celebrate my uncle James and aunt Anne's birthday. My cousin Gilbert felt especially cool wearing these goggles.



A couple weeks later we joined the McMillan family for Thanksgiving, but only after Emily and I ran a Turkey Trot in GGP T-day morning. We placed 2nd and 3rd but didn't win anything. See if we do that race again! For Thanksgiving, the whole McMillan family was there, except Ashley, and it was Kalen's first time home in years. The boys enjoyed shooting hoops and Filipe dazzled me once again with his cuteness.






Jordan acted older than his years with a fancy glass o' cider.


We celebrated Kalen's birthday on Friday, going to Phil's for fish. On Saturday Jeremy and I met our friends Cheryl and Justin in Santa Cruz to go surfing. We had a blast and followed it up with Pleasure Pizza and frozen yogurt.

That night James, Debora, and Gilbert came up to San Francisco to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed their company and Gilbert wowed us with his Spanish skills.
