After working for Habitat for Humanity one Saturday, we met friends at the Malibu Grand Prix where they treated us to 3 timed laps in real little race cars! It was quite a rush hugging those sharp turns, sliding around in the seat. I totally beat Jeremy's times.
Goodbye to Cheryl. Saying goodbye to one of my best SF friends was completly depressing. We enjoyed an evening of lasagna, gelato and a game of Apples to Apples, which left us giggling, once again.

Emily and I ran in cross country nationals with the Impalas, which were held at Golden Gate Park today. It was a muddy race, but what a way to end the season and welcome our winter break.

Mud-spattered and completely spent...

Robyn and Shawn had their annual Christmas Cookie Party. I always get so into it. My creations...

We also attended a fun Impala holiday party/ silent auction fundraiser at Mercedes restaurant downtown. I got 15 passes to the Koret center to use their beautiful pool. Emily got a massage. I donated a nutrition counseling session and she donated some paintings and knitted goods. We raised $2000 for the bay area breast cancer network, so that was cool.
Our annual SF friends Christmas party was fun, as usual, complete with Little Star deep dish and fabulous appetizers. We had a gift exchange and played a mean game of Operation. That game is pretty intense. I was sweating bullets. Not the buzz!! I was so happy with my gifts from Heather--a new microplane grater and cookbook full of gourmet British dishes....apparently that is not an oxymoron, the Brit side of me was pleased to discover.
For one last evening with Cheryl and Justin we went to Dragonfly in the Sunset for a delcious, perfectly executed meal. Since it is crab season here in SF we had to get the Tamarind Dungeness crab. I have never tasted better crab in my life. I'm now craving it constantly.
Big events of this month were my brother Alex's graduation and our fantastic Christmas/ New Year's trip. These deserve their own separate posts with pictures. Coming soon...hopefully...
