More Finn--weeks 2-3

Finn had a great second week of life, exploring more the neighborhood and getting to know us better! He started having calm, awake periods after his meals.

We took him to the Land's End trail for the first time, walking from our house in his stroller's maiden voyage.

He slept through his first golden gate bridge vista!

He had his first "tummy time" and impressed by lifting and turning his head the first time! He also made us laugh by trying to latch on to the round shapes on his blanket.

More walks to the beach...

He started going on early morning walks with dad while I slept a little longer. Jeremy loves this, and so does Finn!

We explored nearby Sutro Heights park on a walk at dusk.

He and dad enjoyed some naps together.

He started to stare at me intently after his meals.

He still hasn't sprouted a neck...but we think he's pretty handsome in his Western get-up from aunt Emily.

Still hating his sponge baths but loving the towel wrap aftermath

Me with Finn the eve of this 2 week birthday

For his 2 week birthday we went on a longer walk to China and Baker beach. It was a gorgeous day!

On his 2 week birthday he weighed 8 lbs 10 oz, growing right along the 50th%ile. He measured 21 inches long, regaining the inch he lost after his cone head resolved! His height is also growing right along the 50th%ile.

I think he's a pretty handsome devil...

Happy Thanksgiving!
He went on his first big outing to see his dad, grandad and aunt Emily run a race. First successful public feeding and changing episode! Later he enjoyed his turkey milk.

He had his first real bath after the umbilical stump fell off. He loved sitting in the warm water, and I think Jeremy enjoyed giving him that bath just as much! Much better than a cold sponge bath...

On Finn's 3 week birthday he had gained a whole pound in 1 week!! 9 lbs 10 oz. That is about double the average rate of weight gain for his age and size. Jeremy told him, " you know, you can't sustain this Finn..."
We love to watch his chubby cheeks jiggle as we take him out in the stroller.
