And ever since then, baby has taken us on quite the emotional ride. I must say, as it stands today, Jeremy and I totally smitten with this little punk.
Here are pictures of him (that's right, a boy) through our ride together so far:
9 weeks
12 weeks-- I believe the consensus is that he looks like a mix between Jeremy and a parsnip. He also appears to be tap dancing on my uterus. We totally called his gender at this ultrasound, only to have our hypothesis confirmed a week later when his chromosome test came back. More importantly, this test reassured us that we would not lose this baby to chromosomal problems--all normal!
13 weeks. This picture was taken after he'd just given us a big scare, and it looks like he's giving us the finger. I've never been more happy to be flipped off.
15 weeks-- what a feeling to be looking at the face of our baby as he snuggles into the placenta like it's a pillow! We also saw him hiccup during this ultrasound, and stretch out his beautifully perfect little legs. I had started feeling him move just past 14 weeks.
19 weeks: Still snuggling with that placenta. I'm feeling him move around several times a day, and Jeremy has felt him move twice.
For interpretation, the following picture is of the bottom of his foot, the other thigh, and center stage...his manhood (see arrow).
We have been SO grateful to the many doctors, nurses, genetic counselors and ultrasonographers who have been involved in our care. They've given us as much information as we can possibly get about this little guy, and along with that, have allowed us to let go of fears (mostly). They are wonderful, caring and amazing at what they do. We are very, very lucky to have access to such good care.
He's due November 3-6th (we get different dates every time). We can't wait to meet him!

Congrats! ultrasounds made everything SO much better... all the throwing up and sickness, and everything else.... That is awesome that you have so many. we wish you a smooth rest of the way! looks like the "mates" are making a comeback... for a while there it was all girls...

OH MY GOODNESS!! Lizzy, I couldn't be happier for you! I am so completely ecstatic for you! That is the best news ever! You are the best "mommy" ever and it is about time that your skills are put to good use on your own little man! CONGRATULATIONS!! We are soooo happy for you!
So so excited to meet him too LIzzy. I have a little present for him. Just have to make it to a post office some time. The Mini McMillan is already such a cutie.

Oh Wow! Liz and Jeremy we are so happy for you. What an emotional roller coaster you have jumped on, but this is such a blessing! Best wishes for the remainder of your pregnancy and here's to November!
