Lizzy's Birthday! We Love You!

Happy Birthday Liz!

Some things you may or may not know about our wonderful LIZ!

From Alex, Amy, and family:

· She is the most considerate person I know.

· It is not unusual for Liz to buy Birthday or Christmas presents six months in advance- she is always thinking of people and things they might like.

· About 15 years ago I had to relinquish the claim to be "introducer of new music to siblings" to Liz when she introduced me to the British band "Blur."

· She (and Emily) used to think that the words to the Beatles' "As I write this letter" were "As I ride to Saturn

· Liz is an awesome aunt- she sent us monthly gifts in anticipation of her first nephew, including diapers with unwrapped snickers inside. We know she'll be a wonderful mom (Those diapers won't have Snickers in them though)

· She was a very happy bride (and has had a wonderful marriage since then- she and Jeremy are truly in love- and that is something obvious to all who know them)

· She is the most well rounded and level headed member of our family.

· I can never keep a straight face for more than five minutes when we "chat" via facebook. (Two words: scatalogical humor)

From Emily:

· Liz can make me laugh faster than anyone I know-- especially in inappropriate places, but she can hold in her laughter much better than I can. Some of my favorite church memories were cracking up from her comments.

· Liz makes awesome well-balanced meals-- she has a way of making the healthiest food taste amazing. Her house is one of the bet restaurants in San Francisco.

· She's brilliant-- knows tons about how the Gastro-intestinal system works and can often answer questions that the medical residents can't because she's a fast learner and listens during medical rounds. It is fascinating to talk with Liz about nutrition for healthy people, sporty people, and for people with different GI diseases.

· Liz is the only well-organized one in the family. She claims this is because she was the only "planned" child in the family.

· When we were little, Liz and I liked to pretend we were friends instead of sisters. We would pretend we were teenagers. Our dream life included riding red or pink scooters around in sleeveless red or pink dresses. Sometimes we would fashion these dresses out of towels or nightgowns. Other times, we'd wear our cotton swim suits, sunglasses, and stylish hats to lay out and talk on the phone to our imaginary boyfriends. The part of this dream that came true was that we are good friends as adults.

· I didn't believe that any one in the world could deserve my sister until I moved to San Francisco and saw how great Jeremy and Liz were together on a daily basis and now I think they have the best relationship I have seen in any young couple. I still think Jeremy is lucky to have Liz, but now I know she's lucky to have him too.

· Liz lives life in the best way—has a perfect work/life balance, everything she does, she does well-from her job to planning the most amazing vacations. I’m lucky that I got to share vacations with her and live in San Francisco with her.

From Jer:

· She is absolutely one of the funniest people I know. She makes me crack up laughing everyday. At least once.

· She is an amazing athlete. She won the first triathlon she ever competed in! And she ran a sub 3-hour marathon after only deciding to run it a number of weeks earlier!

· I still couldn't run faster than her even when she was pregnant.

· She claims the first time she asked me to teach her to surf I ignored her. It was probably my bad hearing. She has since then picked it up, and does very well, even though she doesn't go as often as we would like.

· Liz supported me through undergrad and graduate school, for which I am forever grateful to her. She also put up with my school schedule, and still is, since we have been married.

· Liz has traveled a lot. She is also the most fun person to travel with. She can drag me all around a city, or sit on the beach and take surf pictures. She enjoys all traveling. We have gone on some wonderful trips together these last 6.5 years.

· Liz is so good at cooking. I more than anyone benefit from this and feel so lucky. She even makes my lunches! Eat your heart out everyone. I tease her that she is probably the best cook in her family, which to Liz is blasphemous.

· She loves kids and will be an amazing mother to a lucky bunch. She loves working at the children’s hospital, she loves playing with our friends kids, and our niece and nephews.

From Michael and Amanda

· I can't think of anyone with whom I have more fun than with Liz.

· Liz can be a genuinely hideous dancer when recreating how my dad may well have danced.

· Liz can lower your maturity and can have you giggling like a seven year old in minutes.

·
Liz is a merciless, teasing older sibling with a knack for altering the lyrics to any song.

·
Liz is one of the few 30 year olds who still enjoys prank calling. If you receive a call from a mysterious number and hear the first few notes to "Right Here Waiting," there's a good chance that Liz is on the other end.

·
I am awed by Liz's in-exhaustive amount of energy. She worked three jobs as a full time student, but never seemed too tired to have fun or to run a quick 8 miles.

·
Liz an excellent listener. She can identify with anyone and communicates her understanding warmly.

We are all so lucky to have Liz in our lives. Liz I, and we, all love you. Happy Birthday!
