March (and April) Madness

Jeremy and I have had quite the weekend schedule all of March and so far April too! EVERY weekend since Feb. 28 has been graced with a trip or visitors to us here in SF.

1st and 2nd weekends in March: aforementioned Hawaii

3rd weekend in March: visit from sister Emily.
As usual, we mostly ate really good food while she was here, and spent time with our mutual great friends!

4th weekend in March: trip to southern California
We went primarily to see family and friends (we never have enough time, we know so many people down there).
We went down to the Carlsbad area first and spent the day with Jeremy's brother Kalen. We also got to meet up with our friends Matt and Kendra for dinner.

We spent Friday night and part of Saturday with my aunt, uncle and cousins in Tustin. Jeremy and Nick surfed T Street early Saturday morning and then we had a yummy In-n-Out lunch.

One of the main purposes of this trip was to meet our newest nephew, Samuel. He is the cutest thing ever, and never cries. What a perfect baby! Of course, we loved our time spent with Brandon and Lucy, and seeing little Filipe too.

He is only 4 mos, he's just quite tall for his age!

We got to have lunch with my grandparents and cook them some food to use for future dinners. They are so incredible. It is always so comforting to me to spend time with them.

5th weekend in March: visit from our friends Cheryl and Justin, from Seattle.
The great weather was a big hit with them! We went out to eat at King of Thai, In-N-Out, Truly Mediterranean and Fish. We also hit up the ferry building farmer's market where we purchased the most excellent citrus and got our favorite tasty yogurt. We saw a surf movie premier at the Victoria theater, walked and ran in Golden Gate Park and went to Marin to hike to Tennessee Valley Beach. A great weekend!

We helped them experience the Seward slides. I sustained injuries due to my record sliding speed. We named my scab Agnes.

1st weekend in April: visit from our friend Chris, from LA.
We ate breakfast sandwiches from our local Irish bakery, tried a new Italian restaurant, Beretta, walked through the park and Land's End trail. Lovely weather the whole weekend!

2nd weekend in April: trip to Las Vegas to attend our nephew Todd's baptism.
Good ole' Todd--it's hard to believe he's already 8 years old! Here he is in baptism mode:

We were glad to be able to see Ryan, Stephanie, Ben and Todd again-- it has been so long the kids barely remembered us! I never got a chance to post it, but recently we received this card from Ben and Todd, that had pictures they drew of Jeremy surfing. The pictures have found a nice place on the front of our fridge--aren't they darling?

What a fine family.

It was a big bonus that so many of Jeremy's family were also there! It was nice to spend the weekend with them, as well as Stephanie's family. Those kids were in heaven that weekend with so many cousins there.

It has been a long time since we've spent Easter with family! We had a delcious Easter feast of pina colada smoothies, carne asada, tortillas, beans, rice, and fruit.

What will the 3rd weekend in April bring? Another visit from my sister Emily!! The madness (and visitor/travel-induced gluttony) remains in full force!

And with that, my friends, I have finally caught up with blogging. For now.

Oh wow...we happened to be in Las Vegas over Easter weekend ourselves! It was our 7th Anniversary.

It sure sounds like you have been having quite the excitement! I can imagine you guys are exhausted and need a weekend to catch up on some sleep! But, how wonderful it is so see friends and relatives at the same time! It is really great to see all your adventures! Love you!
