Jeremy's 1/2 Marathon

Jeremy has had a goal for a few years to complete a half marathon. It has seemed that every time he chooses an event, he ends up injured during the training. Finally this year he made it!! Early in February Jeremy ran a 1/2 marathon (13.1 miles) and beat his goal time by 5 minutes, despite the strong headwind that he dealt with during the hardest section of the race -- the last 3 miles. He looked strong and happy the whole race, running a smart, consistent pace. I was a proud wife.

I had a blast cheering with my sister Emily. We were on our bikes and were able to cheer at 9 different spots. As hideous as it is, I was glad that Jeremy wore his neon yellow safety jacket because I could spot him quite easily from far away. We can thank the Nike uniform committee for that one.

Running up Oak Street by the panhandle:

The course started in, and took them through various parts of beautiful Golden Gate Park

Jeremy was inspired by seeing his beloved Ocean Beach and loved the tailwind going this direction...

...but felt somewhat differently coming back.

He ran some of the time with one of my teammates and they suffered the winds together.

Here's Jeremy after finishing the race, tired, wet, satisfied and still very brightly clad.

Love you, Jer. Great job!
