The Brightest Snow on Earth

Utah always claims to have the greatest snow on earth, and I'd be the first to agree. Well, Yosemite has the brightest snow on earth. We went snowshoeing there towards the end of March and even though I wore sunglasses the whole time, after snowshoeing all afternoon I couldn't see well for a good half hour in normal lighting.

We shoed on out to an overlook called Dewey point, from where we could see El Capitan and Half-dome, the classic Yosemite sites. We had some snacks on the rocks and then headed back. It was 85 degrees and the snow was melting quick. We hit some muddy spots we had to navigate through.

This trip also afforded us the chance to stay with Grandma Lil in Modesto, who sponsored our lunch at the Yosemite lodge and with whom we had a nice dinner on the way home. We were a little sore in the hips the next day. Try doing a marching motion for 4 hours straight and tell me how it goes.
