Rocky Mountain High

For Labor Day weekend we took an extra day off on Friday and went to visit Jeremy's little brother Kalen, who lives close to Denver. We enjoyed hanging out with Kalen. We went swimming, bowling, had a picnic, flew gliders at the park, and spent time in downtown Boulder, where we ate some of the most buttery and rich ice cream I've ever had. It was so nice to see Kalen doing so well. I was happy to get to know him better.

We also went camping and hiking at Rocky Mountain National Park. I love this national park--it is one of the most spectacular to me and it is big enough that even on a holiday weekend, it didn't seem that crowded. We went on a couple hikes to mountain peaks: Flattop Mountain and Twin Sisters. Twin Sisters is actually just outside the main park area, a little southwest of Estes Park. I decided I would like a cabin in Estes Park. It was in such a picturesque little spot, with a bright blue lake and surrounded by those rocky peaks.
