Friday was a splendid evening in Santa Cruz. Betsy and I sat on the cliff overlooking Pleasure Point to watch Jeremy and Steve out in the water. They enjoyed the spot, sharing only with a couple other guys. So gorgeous with the moon out.
It looked so fun. Here is some of Jeremy's moonlight longboarding:
We were starving by the time they were done, and had our hearts set on the aptly named, Pizza my Heart. We opted for the Capitola locale, which proved to be quite the scene for frat boys. Ick. I think the worker took pity on the pregnant lady, and when there was no plain mushroom pizza left they whipped me up a fresh one in just 10 minutes time! I fell in love with that boy just a little bit.
We went to the McMillans that night and zonked out fairly promptly. The next morning we enjoyed some exercise and even more so, the breakfast burritos a la Jeremy and chatting with Glenn and Kathy. Then we drove in to Carmel. The boys body surfed at the beach and we spent some time in the town.
That afternoon we went back to the McMillan pad and prepped a couple items to contribute to the vast spread of celebratory goodies. Look at all that! Glenn and Kathy did an amazing job on this meal, and we again enjoyed their fantastic new BBQ area. Such a pleasant and delicious evening.
Here I am demo-ing the fancy built-in beer tap with my root beer.
Steve really made the most out of his rib experience.
The evening rounded out with a nice sit by the fire place making S'mores. What a perfect way to celebrate the 4th.
