November

On a beautiful morning early in November, Jeremy ran in a half marathon and he did an awesome job. Emily and I loved watching this race, and even ended up working as volunteers after being alarmed at the poor planning of this race. We were frantically pouring water for runners at the aid station, laying out cones to mark the course minutes before the runners came by...it was bad. But San Francisco was spectacular that morning and Jeremy ran his 13.1 miles like it was no big deal.

After the race Jeremy "iced" his legs in the bay (that's Alcatraz in the background). Way to go Jeremy!

Later in November Jeremy, Emily and I headed over to Berkeley and hit up Cheeseboard for some amazing pizza and live music.

Afterwards, we rounded out the day perfectly, taking the North Face Outlet by storm, followed by a tour of the Scharfen Berger chocolate factory with samples galore! Our guide at the factory was undoubtedly a theater major; I seriously struggled to maintain composure.
Their #1 rule is that all body hair must be covered.

These crushed cocoa beans smelled heavenly.

We spent Thanksgiving at home this year. It was the "McMillan" year but Jeremy's family decided to gather down south and my lovely work kept me on a leash up here. A shame, but the Becksteads came to the rescue (and what a delicious rescue it was). The day after Thanksgiving was sad, because I had to work, but a "Pie Friday" evening with our friends made it all better. I was lazy with the camera; Heather did a better job documenting Thanksgiving with the Becksteads and Pie Friday.
