On may 10th the greatest triathlon team of all time took to the hills and lake of Tilden Park in the Berkeley hills. This team was Me- Jeremy on the swim, Emily on the bike, and Pierre as the anchor on the run. We did a relay for the trifreak Golden Bear triathlon. I swam 1k, Emily rode about 23 miles and Pierre ran a 10k. There were some insanely good people there competing. It was pretty hot and the course was hilly. I think I got the best end of the deal. I was only in the water for about 18 minutes, then Igot to relax and enjoy the race. Emily on the other hand had this gnarly bike course for about 1.5 hours and then Pierre had an equally brutal 10k run for 40 something minutes. It turns out we got first place for the relay, although they gave us 2nd place trophies. There was a team of all men from a triathlon club that got the 1st place trophies, but they were all men and they cheated, so we won instead, and the website says so. Pierre wanted to fight them, but they were very scared. Perhaps the best part of doing that race was the trip to the Cheeseboard afterwards!

Here is Pierre on the run flashing a peace sign, unless you are from a Commonwealth country. When he passed by Liz he said, "I hate this."

Here is the team afterwards sporting the numbers.  After Pierre's number washed off you could still see it, but in white.  It was a good day for tanning.
